Q&A

What play (or type of play) would you LOVE to design for?

I love to design operas!

What's the last show or designer you were inspired by?

I saw Written On Skin by Benjamin Britten at the Mostly Mozart Festival—the designs of Vicki Mortimer were not only intelligent, but also transcendent.

What is the hardest part of your job?

Figuring out how to marry imagination with technical magnitude.

If you weren't a designer, what can you picture yourself doing instead?

I'd probably be an artist, or a historian.
